It's about that time again and we're tweeting up at Wetherspoons (for anyone that isn't sure it's the one down by Chiquitos).

About MK:Tweetup

MK:Tweetup is a monthly networking opportunity for web designers, developers, digital creatives, photographers, artists, internet professionals and indeed anyone from in and around Milton Keynes (MK) and the surrounding areas.

This is an informal event designed to encourage local people to talk and create a community based around common interests. Typically the event will be held over drinks, which helps to promote a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.

The overall aim is to develop a support network where professionals can learn from one another, talk about their work, their industries and simply get a chance to chat with likeminded people.

Of course it's not all business, as we've said it's very informal so please don't be afraid to come and join us for a few laughs.

How do I join?

Anyone is free to join us at MK:Tweetup and feel free to bring your friends along (assuming they'd be interested in the geek chat!). If you'd like to attend then please feel free to just show up, all are welcome. We will ask you to join our group and be listed on our tweeps page (this does require a twitter account, which is both free and simple).

Who runs this shindig?

Well, currently all the organising is being done by myself. I'm Anthony and I run my own design business here in MK, I also work for a large web development firm again based in Milton Keynes.

I'm not looking to get anything from this setup apart from a good group of people who are all looking to come together occassionaly to share ideas and support one another. The idea is that I get the ball rolling and you guys take it from there. I'm hoping for this to be as organic as possible and I'm completely open to any ideas or suggestions you may have as to how to evolve MK:Tweetup. I look forward to meeting you all in person at the next tweetup, mines a pint :)
